PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

• - Assisting the Qs Head on managing costs and ensuring value for money throughout all stages of a construction project.
•  
• - Responsible for tendering & procurement up to final account settlement with the contractors.
•  
• - Monitoring and checking of overall site progress.
•  
• - Close coordination with the contractors regarding site concerns.
• - Instigate site to head office coordination regarding projects.
•  
• - Collaboration with the site technical team to ensure timely project completion.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare accurate quantity takeoff & cost estimates for construction projects.
2. Monitor and control expenses to ensure that the project remains within the approve budget.
3. Value engineering the construction methods or materials to achieve cost savings.
4. Assist in the tender procurement process including evaluation of bids & making recommendations of awards.
5. Assist in preparation of contract for the contractors.
6. Prepares site accomplishment report and overall project update
7. Evaluation of progress billing from contractors.
8. Preparation of Request for Payment for contractor billings.
9. Requests and evaluates project proposals from contractors.
10. Checking and monitoring of Request for Information and Request for Approval from Contractors.
11. Plan and Cost Estimates as needed.
12. Site Inspection
13. Preparation of Purchase Request for Construction Needs.
14. Checking of Plans and Issuance of Site Instruction to Contractors.
15. Issuance of memos and letters to contractors on-site.
16. Preparation of response to letters and memos from the contractors on-site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Registered Civil Engineer or Architect with experience in Quantity Surveying.
